Simple Way to Share the Story

One of the most difficult things I run into as a missions pastor is: “How do we share the story of what God is doing in Missions?” So many churches have so many activities, that missions can get put to the back burner. Most churches priorities , given the small amount of announcement time, is more focused on church activities for believers. Nothing wrong with that and it is necessary. One problem though, our task is to go into the world, not come into a building.  Ultimately we end up teaching people to stay at home and enjoy church activities without realizing what we are saying.

Below is a simple way you can share the story to your people that encourages them to GO. I created a slide show of pictures taken on a recent trip.  We simply placed them in a slide presentation program (I used iMovie 08), and them posted them on my You Tube account, which is free.

Then we let our donors and church people know about the slide show.  We have done video and still pictures both. People can see the story without having to read a ton of text.  So far it has been effective and people begin to see that reaching the ethnos is nothing like they envisioned.  A picture truly is worth a thousand words.

Time:  It took only an hour or so to do this.

About nations1

I am a missions pastor with a passion to see churches engage those in the least reached parts of the world. There are people who can walk for days and weeks and even months without ever finding anyone who can tell them about Jesus in their language. My heart is to help churches move forward to become what I call mission centric churches.
